I often receive questions regarding skilled care and how a person qualifies. This can be a very confusing subject especially if you are not prepared and in a state of an unplanned emergency. I hope the following information will assist in making this subject a little less complex. Medicare can cover up to 100 days in a skilled nursing facility if a person meets very strict conditions. A person must need daily skilled nursing or rehabilitative care not just personal care. This is a question we hear a lot at Maple Crest. The answer is: It depends on what “that” is… Is it an Assisted Living, Home Care, Nursing Home Care or Hospice?

Many myths, or misconceptions, persist about nursing facility life. In the past decade, nursing facilities, like all areas of health care, have changed dramatically in terms of staffing, policies, procedures, and general approach to the needs of their patients. It is our goal to provide both quality care and quality of life in a safe and secure environment.
